These are the simple, plain-language terms for using Huee. By signing up or using the app, you’re agreeing to them. We’ve tried to keep them clear and short.
what huee is
Huee is a free creative app that helps you learn to paint at home with real materials. Hughie, the guide who appears in the app, is an AI assistant. He is not a person, a teacher, a counsellor, a therapist, a doctor, or any kind of medical or mental health professional, and he never claims to be. Anything he says is for creative guidance and gentle company — not for medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice.
what huee isn’t
Huee is not a crisis service and never will be. If you are unsafe or in crisis, please reach out to the services on our find support page or your local emergency number. The directories we provide are a courtesy — phone numbers, hours, and services can change without notice, and we don’t guarantee they’re always accurate or available. Please verify them yourself if you need to.
who can use huee
- You need to be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- If you’re a child or young person, please check with a parent or carer before you sign up.
- You’re responsible for the email address and password you use to sign in, and for anything that happens through your account.
your work is yours
You own your paintings, photos, words, and reflections. By uploading them to Huee you give us the permission we need to store them, show them back to you, and — only if you turn sharing on for a specific painting — show them on a public share page. We won’t use your work to train AI models or sell it to anyone.
things you agree not to do
- Don’t upload photos that aren’t of your own painting or which contain identifiable images of other people without their consent.
- Don’t use Huee to harass anyone, share illegal content, or try to break, abuse, or get around our systems.
- Don’t pretend to be someone else or create accounts on another person’s behalf without their permission.
- Don’t use anything Hughie says as a substitute for advice from a real professional.
We can pause or remove an account that’s being used in ways that put us, our community, or you at risk.
huee is provided as is
Huee is offered free of charge, on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including (but not limited to) warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We don’t guarantee Huee will always be available, error-free, secure, or that the AI’s responses will be correct, complete, appropriate, or suitable for any particular situation.
limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Huee, the foundation that supports it, and anyone who works on it are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the app, anything Hughie says, anything you do or don’t do because of using Huee, or any decisions you make about your physical or mental health. You use Huee at your own risk and you take full responsibility for your own choices and wellbeing while using it. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations on liability, in which case the limitations above apply only to the extent the law allows.
stepping away
You can step away from Huee at any time from inside the app. Your account and all of its data are removed within 30 days. We can also end your access — or end Huee entirely — if we need to, with reasonable notice where we can give it.
these terms can change
We may update these terms from time to time. If we do, we’ll update the date at the bottom of this page and, for material changes, we’ll let you know inside the app or by email. Continuing to use Huee after changes means you accept them.
where these terms apply
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the foundation that supports Huee is registered, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of that jurisdiction, unless your local law gives you stronger rights as a consumer.
